We have a very sad announcement: our OU-designated man-child and tattoo-enthusiast, Alex Gallin, is leaving! He will pursue an MBA at the University of St. Gallen this Fall in his home country of Switzerland. Alex pioneered our comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P’s) and pricing strategies, making the business what it is today. Besides for him ranting about Game of Thrones to people who don’t watch the show, we asked Alex what he will miss about OU, and some other parting questions:
What will you miss most about OU?
The people. Mainly Captain, Olive, and Kevin. That’s it.
What is the first thing you will do when you go back?
I’m going to open a bottle of whisky with my dad and reminisce over the past 4 years. I’ll also give my brothers and my dog a big hug.
What was your favorite class at UM, and what class are you looking forward to take in Switzerland?
I really like Object-Oriented Programming where we learned Java while at UM, and I’m really excited to take classes on data analytics.
What was your favorite client to work on?
I didn’t work on any clients, really. I was busy shaping the business.
What’s the greatest lesson you learned while at OU?
I learned a lot about myself when it comes to working with other people. I would not have been able to take on such an opportunity elsewhere, and being put in such an environment with others, brought out the collaborative side in me. At the same time, I’ve learned that I try not to steer someone else’s project in my direction.
And, of course, we saved the most important question for last.
#TeamCaptain or #TeamOlive?
I’m Swiss, I can’t pick sides.
We’ll miss you, Alex! Just remember to bring back some chocolate when you visit.
