Alex Bogusky: What His Return to CP+B Means

Big news: Co-Founder CP+B Alex Bogusky is making his return to the world of advertising after an eight year hiatus! Bogusky is set to take on the role of Chief Creative Engineer at the big league ad agency he founded with Chuck Porter and Sam Crispin back in 1988. Now headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, the agency has nine offices internationally, with locations throughout the US, South America, Europe, and Asia. CP+B has also produced noteworthy client work for the likes of Burger King, BMW, Domino’s Pizza, American Airlines, Hulu, and more.

In an article posted by Ad Week, Chuck Porter claimed that Bogusky is “the most original and innovative thinker” he knows. Regarding his own return to the company, Bogusky stated, “The CP+B brand has always been all about redefining advertising, and the opportunity to remake what it means to be a top-tier creative agency is too compelling to pass up…The timing is right.” You can check out the article here.

Bogusky is a major established player in the booming world of advertising; in fact, he was named Creative Director of the Decade by Adweek in its Best of 2000s issue. Additionally, Bogusky has worked on groundbreaking initiatives for advertising at large, including an online talk show he released in 2010 and 2011. These talks focused on the modern relationship between people, culture, and brands, with an emphasis on sustainability, democracy, and the partnership between companies and their consumers. In recent years - with the help of his wife Ana and his friend Rob Schuham - Bogusky has been operating Fearless Cottage out of Boulder. This firm functions as a media lab and overall brand transformation consultancy, working with clients such as Verizon, Annie’s, College Board, and Bitly.

Here at Orange Umbrella, we greatly admire the cutting-edge initiatives spearheaded by Bogusky. In the same way that he aims to revolutionize advertising and bring the industry into the 21st century, OU aims to remodel the way we see education and experiential learning. We can all learn from Bogusky in one way or another. In today’s ever-changing digital world, nearly every industry faces the challenge of adjusting and transforming processes to better fit a landscape of convenience and efficiency. Companies - no matter how big or small - must roll with the punches. Be a part of the new wave, or be left in the dust; it’s as simple as that, and Bogusky has got the right idea.
