Putting social norms on blast
In the Summer of 2019, the University of Miami Sandler Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Education hired Orange Umbrella to film and produce a social media video series featuring perceptions regarding the use of drugs and alcohol on campus. The videos, titled Community Consensus, were funny, relatable and effectively challenged misconceptions of social norms related to the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
Our Fresh Approach
The videos were shared via Sandler Center’s Instagram and gathered 700+ views during the campaign, which ran from Fall 2019 to Spring 2020. Based on target audience insights specific to student behavior at UM, the videos successfully strengthened the Center’s social presence and fostered engagement around important topics of social health at the University of Miami.
